McGoldrick Striving for his gold medal in the common wealth games 2010.

Sean McGoldrick is the youngest Welsh boxer who playing at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He is leading to win the gold medal during the final event of boxing which takes place tomorrow.


He gave his wonderful performance in his encounter with Beijing 2008 bronze medalist, Bruno Julie at New Delhi during last evening.

This boxer is teenager who has to pin the Sri Lankan boxer, Manju Wanniarachchi to clinch the gold medal. McGoldrick who worked harder was trained by the coach Tony Borg to defeat Julie. The encounter was vital during the second round of match.

The Welsh boxer led it to finals once after he survived an attack during last 30 seconds of the 3rd round. In During the post event of the interview McGoldrick said that, it was really a complete patience and it’s not just about slugging it but it is of being patient and to pick the better shots.

The young athlete kept saying that, he did the same and was waiting to meet very classy opponent whom they made to come forward. And also he said he is a back foot fighter and then took him out of his comfort zone.

McGoldrick’s teammates Jermaine Asare and Keiron Harding didn’t play well in the light-heavy weight as well in the middle weight events, He also made Team Wales to come for the spotlight at the Commonwealth Games.

He also mentioned that, this was his third international tournament and he also beaten an Olympic bronze and world silver medalist. He also trained really hard and was in need of lot of support from his family.

And his enthusiastic speech expressed that he is here for gold and he will put in all the efforts  to give a  best one and if it’s enough he will come out with gold.
